Two Fires In 8 Hours 

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008- At 0840 hours, Ocean Pines Fire Department was dispatched to assist Showell Fire Department with an RV fire at the intersection of Route 113 and Route 589.  Engine 1102 responded with 4 and arrived shortly after Engine 803 to find an RV well involved.  Second Assistant Chief Brian Bishop established "Worcester Highway Command."   Crews went to work placing a total of three 1 3/4" handlines in service.  An additional engine and tanker were requested from Berlin to assist.  Units cleared the scene by 0950 hours. 
At 1438 hours, Ocean Pines was dispatched for 2 engines and a truck to assist Ocean City with a structure fire in the area of Keyser Point Road and Center Drive.  Shortly after responding, first arriving units reported a 2 story vacant house fully involved.  Upon arrival, the crew of Truck 11 went to the fireground to assist with fire suppression.  Engine 1101 responded and was used to complete the water supply laying 900' of 5" hose.  All Ocean Pines were clear the fire scene by 2050 hours.
